Ode to Cantu Shea Butter PLUS 5 Steps To Combat Dryness in Natural Hair

Glamazons,

Going natural was one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made for myself. Only two years after my big chop, my hair is healthier and longer than ever. I’ve fallen in love with my unique curl pattern and unaltered texture. I’ve finally figured out which styles work best for fancy events and which looks I can easily create under 10 minutes when I’m running late for work. I have an arsenal of products that I swear by and would shed tears for if any were ever discontinued.

From the versatility of my strands, which I can now wear curly, textured or straight, to the ease of working out and swimming without ruining my look, I couldn’t be happier with my new hair. But going natural hasn’t always been so worry-free.

If you’ve ever seen women running away from a rainstorm, hands over their heads, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

But for naturals, we can never get enough moisture. And the need for moisture intensifies during the cold winter months (I live in NYC and trust me, they’re brutal) when your hair dries even more than usual. Dry hair is not only unhealthy but it breaks easily and makes it harder to retain length.

Faced with the dry hair challenge, I came up with this 5-step program to keep my strands shiny, healthy and rich with moisture.
