As we settle into summer florals and fruit print, Target is already prepping for Fall with a fresh designer collab with none other than Adam Lippes.
For his eponymous collection, Adam sources inspiration from everywhere from rural America to Cuba, and he’s praised for his use of quality fabrics, attention to tailoring and an understated yet refined aesthetic.
Inspired by buffalo plaid, the designer, who once served as creative director at Oscar de la Renta, will create 50+ pieces for Adam Lippes for Target including clothing, accessories and pet and home goods. It will launch at all Target stores and on Target.com on September 27th.

“As a designer, I’ve always admired Target’s ability to make beautiful products available to everyone,” Adam said of the collaboration. “I was thrilled when they approached me with the challenge of creating an entire collection around buffalo plaid. It’s also been exciting to design for categories that are entirely new for me.”
Adam Lippes for Target is a part of Target’s plaid takeover which launches in August and ends in October, and features product ranging in price from $2-$180.
Various looks from the Target plaid takeover…love that shirt dress!
Of the plaid takeover, Kathee Tesija, Target‘s executive vice president and chief merchandising and supply chain officer, said: “When we started to think about fall, we knew we wanted to do something special, something that would usher in the season in a way that only Target could. Plaid has been a defining element of style for every generation, and we felt it would be the perfect centerpiece for this design moment: it can be both fun and fashionable, so it offered us a lot of flexibility as we thought through ways we could bring it to life for our guests.”
I’m always partial to plaid but in refreshing, feminine silhouettes like dresses and skirts so I’m excited to see what this new direction yields.
