Remember in October when we announced the coming of Jean Paul Gaultier’s line for Target? Well, the lookbook has hit the web and though I’m still partial to Zac Posen’s line, there’s something about these edgy designs that blows my mind. In true Jean Paul Gaultier fashion, the affordable pieces blend high fashion and street culture seamlessly.
Even the more classic looks, like that amazing trench coat, have a chic, urban edge that make them utterly cool. And when it’s time to strut down the catwalk, like Jourdan Dunn in the amazing Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2010 look, turn to show-stopping pieces like a pair of tattooed tights and tanks with eye-popping graphics (Yes, literally. An eye graces the front of the shirt).
The tattoo prints aren’t my favorite and can easily go ugg when worn the wrong way (Ex: Ed Hardy) but I’m in love with the fit of that red and white printed belted sheath with a nautical neckline. The look is so trendy but the silhouette is timeless. Perfect match. AND the tough-luxe combo of the floral dress and white studded belt is just calling my name!
Check out images from the Lookbook and tell me what you’ve got your eye on when the pieces, which retail from $18-$200, hit stores on March 7th.
Kisses,
Coutura
so . . . love the flow of the dresses but the prints do look a bit . . . dated . . . some of these can layer with my closet though – thanks for the look!
