Glamazons,
Morocco is one of the most beautiful places in the world so when Tadashi Shoji said he was inspired by it for his Fall 2014 presentation, I knew we were in for a mystifying, enchanting collection.
I went backstage yesterday to find a utopia of gorgeous gowns, and dark, mysterious beauty looks reminiscent of Medieval times yet surprisingly modern. Everything was just so dreamy and “Gang of Thrones”-esque. I loved it!
I ran into my good friend Julee Wilson of The Huffington Post who joined me for a glorious natural hair pic – she’s the greatest.
Together, we got the scoop on the makeup.
Here are the deets on Tadashi Shoji Fall 2014 Backstage Makeup!
Inspiration: The makeup look took its cue from a “dark Moroccan sky” and an “enchanting Medieval Moorish palace…mystery, romance and decadence,” according to key makeup artist, Lisa Houghton. Doesn’t it just sound sexy?!
Get The Look:
1. Use MAC Cosmetics Face and Body foundation to illuminate and enhance the skin. Blend MAC Pro taupe powder blush pro palette over the apples to sculpt and shape. Blend MAC Cosmetics Pearl Cream Colour Base over the cheekbones for an added highlight and radiance to skin.
2. This look calls for defined brows. Brush MAC Cosmetics Coquette eye shadow through the eyebrow using a feather technique (as opposed to drawing) for a softer effect that looks more natural.
3. Apply just a wash of MAC Cosmetics Coquettish cream eyeshadow (available Spring 2014) to the eyes to add some definition. No mascara. The eyes are soft and neutral.
4. Press on a deep matte red (MAC Cosmetics Hearts Aflame lipstick availabe Fall 2014) onto the lip with your finger then blot with a tissue, layer by layer. Make sure the lips aren’t too perfectly painted to give the impression of a wine lip stain rather than lipstick.
And for the deets on Tadashi Shoji Fall 2014 Backstage Nails…
Inspiration: Elegant, ladylike nails for strong, supremely confident women.
Get The Look:
1. Start with butter LONDON Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat to moisturize and strengthen the nails.
2. Using butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Marbs, create the gold half moon at the cubicle and a French manicure along the tip.
3. Complete the look with butter LONDON P.D. Quick Topcoat.
So elegant and pretty!
