#NYFW: Jason Wu Fall 2013 – Gowns Made for Michelle Obama!

If First Lady Michelle Obama chooses you as her go-to designer for spellbinding formal gowns, you kind of have to choose her as your muse, right? That must be what Jason Wu was thinking when he debuted a collection of brilliant floor-length dresses that look like he fitted them on Mrs. O’s body. There were plenty of sexy and superchic casual pieces to round out the line too including outerwear that tapped into Wu’s grittier side.

Here are the deets:

Inspiration: Judging from the breathtaking chandelier that served as a backdrop for the show and this quote from Wu (via BagSnob): “I think women are ready for glamour again. I want to give them the hourglass silhouette,” the inspiration was all glamour, decadence and elegance.

Key Pieces: Sexy cut-out turtlenecks with sheer panels, high-collared dresses with peplum waists, cinched fur coats and vests lined with fur trim, sweeping gowns belted at the waist with peplum and sheer necklines.

Who I Could See Wearing This Collection: Michelle Obama. Duh.

Is this not perfect for the First Lady in all of us?
