So you wrote a bomb cover letter and landed an interview in the fashion industry, did you? And now you’re freaking out about what to wear? I have you covered Glamazons! First thing to keep in mind for getting dressed for a fashion interview is that just because this is a creative field doesn’t mean that you can go lax on the manners and professionalism– this always matters.
When choosing an outfit, it might be important to consider the major trends of the season. Pick one that flatters you to show that you are up on what’s hot in fashion’s streets. Pick one and choose classic pieces that you are comfortable in to wear with the trend. Don’t dress head to toe in trends.
Speaking of dressing in head to toe, the same goes for wearing labels. Don’t. I don’t mean stay away from labels, I mean stay away from visible labels all over your clothing. It makes sense that you would want to impress the interviewer with all your designer wares but now is not the time. You want you personality to shine through, not your wallet.
Though this is the fashion industry, not everything goes. Nothing too short or tight, glittery or too casual. This is an interview, not a full on fashion show (I sound like my mom!) Go for natural makeup, save for a punchy pout and a fun polish on your nails.
Just to be clear, here are a few outfits below that will be sure to get you the job!
Stay Stylish,
Glamazon Channing
