How to Wear Red, White and Blue on July 4th Without Looking Basic
One of my favorite summer holidays is upon us: Fourth of July aka Independence Day! I’m super excited because not only do I get to spend some much-needed time with my family, but there will be plenty of good food, laughter and…did I mention the food? I can hardly wait!
Do you have any special plans for the holiday? This year, I’ll be pulling double duty. I’m attending my family reunion on Friday and Saturday. Then heading to one of my close friend’s red, white and blue themed wedding on Sunday. So I have to find looks that will work for the beach, a bbq, or a reception hall that are festive yet not too cheesy.
Whether you’re dressing up or enjoying a laid-back weekend in, here are some cute Independence Day outfit ideas:
The one summer staple that never gets old? A romper. The lightweight silhouette is an easy breezy option, perfect for an outdoor barbecue or fun block party. Get into the patriotic spirit with a pastel blue romper paired with an American flag print clutch. A pair of cat-eye shades, a gold ring and a red lip add a little pizazz to the understated look.
If your plans include something a little more fancy, opt for a midi skirt. Not only is it on trend this season but it’s super versatile. Dress it up with a striped crop top and bold block heels. A statement clutch and dangling earrings serve as ultra chic finishing touches.
If you know me, you know I love a good jumpsuit. Make a statement in a crisp white jumpsuit upgraded with a pair of red strappy heels. Incorporate a dash of blue with a statement necklace and eyeshadow and you’re good to go.
Because what’s a holiday weekend without a little fun in the sun? Opt for a vibrant one-piece for a high-impact look while you lounge out by the water. Add a few eye-catching details with a signature floppy hat, sunglasses and striped tote bag. And don’t forget your sunscreen for added protection!
What are you getting into this Fourth of July weekend? What are you wearing? Tell me in the comments!
