Glamazons,

Isn’t it a great feeling when you settle into your personal style? You know which silhouettes work for you, you know which looks best fit with your personality and you can just go on and slay without interruption.

Every once in awhile, I get to dress up for galas (my Dad usually lets me tag along to his super fancy work events). At first, it was hard for me to find a dressy look that I was comfortable in. I’d go for a short dress with a full skirt and a killer pair of shoes but then I’d feel underdressed next to everyone’s floor-length gowns. If I did wear a gown, the styles I chose were often fussy, constricting and not necessarily flattering. I wasn’t enjoying that much either.

Then, I discovered this gown from Rent The Runway. I actually bought it for an amazing deal from their clearance sale, which is happening again now. The chiffon fabric, sweeping silhouette, flowing skirt and off shoulder neckline felt so comfortable and flattering. I just knew that when it comes to gowns, this style is my soul mate.

I just bought another gown in this style from Pinky Promise (the founder, Heather Lindsey, is hosting a closet sale to support her church‘s building fund). I can’t wait to wear it for Valentine’s Day! Off shoulder necklines will be huge this year. And they’re my favorite!

I always wondered how the women filing into Lincoln Center for galas were able to look so effortless and confident. And now that I’ve found the look that epitomizes my style, I get it. I’m so passionate about inspiring confidence in women because it makes all the difference. And fashion really helps that mission, it’s how we present ourselves to the world. When I walked into the holiday gala last month, Beyonce (both “***Flawless” and “Feeling Myself”) pumping in my head, I felt like I had finally come into my own. 2016 is going to be amazing, I can already tell.

Kisses,

Glamazon Jessica
