.@GovBallNYC Style: Rain Boots, Hipster Glasses & A Fanny Pack

Hey Glamazons! As you have probably read by now, I attended the NYC Governor’s Ball a couple of weeks ago courtesy of Dove. I meant to put up this post immediately after the Gov Ball, but that just didn’t happen because #LIFE, so I hope that you’ll forgive me for that. Side note: When I say #LIFE, I mean that a million a one things have happened between then and now that haven’t allowed for me to take the time to sit down and write it all out. #LivingLaVidaSingleMomLife hahaha

Anyways, I don’t really consider myself to be a stylish person by nature. If you’re reading this and rolling eyes and saying “Bye, girl” please note that everything I wear is accidental. I don’t plan outfits, there is no secret #OOTD action going on in my head. I throw on whatever I feel like wearing at the moment. The only consistency in my dressing is that I love to wear black. In fact, pretty much all of my closet is black, but that’s a post for another day.

I was super excited to get to the Governor’s Ball mostly because I’d been waiting my entire #NYC life to go. (Which is only 10 years….no biggie.) Of course, it would come after I move out of the state, so I just decided to bite the bullet and fly back into town for it and some other business I had to handle. At the time, there was this weird cold front going on in the city plus it had been raining so there was also dampness to contend with. UGH I made sure to pack some rain boots (I also hate wearing those as well but it’s better than having wet feet!).

The morning of the concert, I threw on a black Cotton On t-shirt, Old Navy jeans and my trusty black leather Express jacket. I was super excited to wear my gold MAC for Wonder Woman fanny pack because I’d found it while unpacking and had never used it. I also threw on a pair of hipster glasses that I found at a local store for $5. Along with my orange and white flower crown from Dove, I looked music festival ready. It was all so random and so amazing. We stayed out there all day dancing in bubbles, the mist, the rain, the humidity, the sunshine (and later) underneath the stars.

What do you think of my #GovBall style, Glamazons?

xoxoxo
