#NYFW Beauty: Goth Makeup at Alexander Wang Fall 2015 @NARSissist
No matter the season, Alexander Wang‘s designs epitomize cool, urban edge. And few things are cooler than the gothic rock-and-roll scene. Perhaps inspired by the upcoming Marilyn Manson album, Wang showed an almost all-black collection at New York Fashion Week that felt even darker than his previous lines. And an aggy North West stole the show in a custom version of the pieces on the runway — a shiny bomber jacket and studded separates — with black Timberland boots.
Is it wrong that we’re pining for a mini-version of the goth-inspired collection?
Here are the deets on Alexander Wang Fall 2015:
Inspiration: Wang appeared to take his cue from goth rock-and-roll royalty with creatives citing Kiss, Nine Inch Nails and The Cure as inspiration for the beauty looks.
Key Pieces: Turtlenecks lined with studs, leather-paneled tops, flared dresses with shredded hems, peacoats with collars lined with studs, pants with shredded hems, studded leather bags and backpacks, plaid coats, shimmery see-through dresses, lace-up or buckled platform creepers.
Who I Could See Wearing This Collection: Zoe Kravitz and Nicki Minaj (who both sat front row), Rihanna, Joan Smalls, Jourdan Dunn, Kristen Stewart.

Beauty: Models fully committed to the rock-and-roll aesthetic with jet-black, slick hair created by Guido Palau using Redken, and gothic makeup by NARS. “The inspiration is heavy metal rock – think Kiss. The look has a very gothic rock-and-roll feel,” said NARS lead artist Diane Kendal.
