GLAM SCOOP: #LillyforTarget Carries Plus, #NYFW Name Change and Nasty Gal Sale
Happy New Year! I hope you’re feeling inspired and motivated to make 2015 an even better year than the last. I’m feeling more empowered to go after my goals after joining LoveBrownSugar‘s #LBSLounge chat about vision boards this weekend, but I’ll give you the tea on that later. In the meantime, I have to admit I’m still sort of recovering from my holiday trip to Cuba (which was awesome!) and that’s why this news post is coming later than usual. Forgive me! I still managed to pull together the latest and greatest in fashion news, and we have so much to discuss. Here’s the scoop!
Lilly Pulitzer for Target is Target’s First Collab To Carry Plus Sizes
OK, who could have dreamt up a better collaboration? Lilly Pulitzer, the queen of kitsch, is the latest designer to team up with Target. Debuting April 19th, the lifestyle range will include 250 pieces, ranging from $25 to $250 (200 pieces are under $30). Her signature beachy prints will adorn everything from dresses, swimwear and nail polish to beach umbrellas and lawn chairs. Don’t expect carbon copies of designs from her eponymous line: her team is coming up with new prints exclusively for Target.
And that’s not even the best part! I’m thrilled to learn Target will include plus sizes in this collaboration. This is clearly a response to Chastity Garner‘s courageous boycott of the Altuzarra for Target line, which only went up to a size 16. Who said social media activism doesn’t get results? Bravo Chastity and Target. This is one line I’m even more excited to shop than usual.
Update 1/8: It turns out the plus size options will only be sold online which, of course, is an inconvenience to any shoppers who want to try on the pieces before they purchase (and they’re not happy about it). I’m hoping I can get fit info at the pre-shopping event, like I did for Altuzarra for Target, so shoppers will have some idea of the best size to order.
Update 1/8: Some people are really pissed that Lilly Pulitzer for Target is even happening. A small but vocal group on Twitter took to the #LillyforTarget hashtag to lament the resort wear brand’s loss of exclusivity and prestige. Some even claimed the late designer is rolling over in her grave at the mere thought of commoners getting their hands on her wares. Seriously? [Refinery29/WWD/Fashionista]
Fashion Week Has a New Name
Glamazons, as soon as I get used to the new and improved Fashion Week, there’s another change. I still haven’t adjusted to Lincoln Center (I know, I’ve had 4 years to get used to it but nothing beats Bryant Park) and already, Fashion Week is moving downtown. Along with the location, the name will change: it’s no longer Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week because Mercedes-Benz is officially out (Heidi Klum voice).
And wait, there’s more. IMG is acquiring MADE Fashion Week at Milk Studios which was previously a competitor to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The bright side? There will be no more shuffling from Lincoln Center all the way downtown for MADE shows. Since everything’s downtown now, perhaps there will be more synergy (and an easier trek for us fashion writers working in heels). What do you think of these changes, Glamazons? [Hollywood Reporter]

Get your fill of C. Wonder finds now (and for 50% off!) because the brand is officially shutting down. The stores will close over the next month, the site will shut down next week and the brand’s social media pages are already gone. Shop half off finds below:
Justin Bieber is The New Face of CK Underwear
Following in their tradition of bad boys (remember Marky Mark?), Calvin Klein tapped Justin Bieber as the new face of Mens underwear. Dare I say it: Biebs actually looks cool and, erm, attractive, in these photos. The pop supernova poses beside CK mainstay Lara Stone in the campaign, which totally lives up to the brand’s legacy of pushing the envelope with advertising. Why am I suddenly into home decor? I blame my best friend Melissa and The Coveteur but suddenly, I’m doing more pillow shopping than shoe-shopping. Like, what?! It doesn’t help that Kate Spade Saturday just teamed up with West Elm on a collection of furniture, bedding, rugs and more. Their motto is “make everyday Saturday.” What’s not to love? Tamera Mowry is Expecting!
The Mowry clan is growing! Tamera Mowry announced on Instagram that she’s expecting Baby No. 2 with husband Adam Housely. She captioned the photo: “We are thrilled to announce we are #ClearblueConfirmed! Can’t wait to meet baby #2! Love Clearblue’s pregnancy test with Smart Countdown. It helped me get through the wait to get my result by counting down with me. #spon.”
