Glamazons,

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays obvs (what Glamazon doesn’t love playing dress-up?). And I’m lucky I got to start the festivities early this year with my boo Geneva Thomas‘s early Halloween party, the MYX Monster Bash, at Harlem’s Park 112. Along with the holiday, she was celebrating her birthday, the launch of JawBreaker NYC (her new site dedicated to all things style, pop culture and sex) and the second season of Bravo‘s “Blood, Sweat and Heels.” Of course, I haven’t even figured out my Halloween costume yet so I had to scour through my closet to come up with something cute to wear. Since the party was in my beloved Harlem, I decided to go back to an era I sometimes wished I lived in: the Harlem Renaissance, which spanned the 1920s. That called for a full on flapper look: pearls, a ruffle dress, a smoky eye, my faux fur coat and of course, sparkles in the form of my clutch and heels. Would’ve fit right in the 1920s, right?!

Check out a few pics from the party:

Fun!

I like to think of my costume as a testament to the fact that you don’t have to spend a grip on Halloween costumes every year. It’s too expensive quite honestly and if you have multiple parties, you sometimes have to get creative. Here’s some glamspiration if you plan on shopping your closet for Halloween costumes:

Easy, breezy. So this year, I’m headed to Mexico for Halloween (#HalloweeninMexico) and was thinking of dressing up as a skeleton and going all out with my makeup as an ode to El Dio de Los Muertos.

What are you planning to dress up as this year? Let’s chat in the comments. Hope you found these costume ideas helpful!

Kisses,

Glamazon Jessica
