The Motions Hair Products That Maintained My #CaribbeanCrawl Wash-and-Go Hair

Glamazons,

I did the bravest thing ever last weekend: I wore my hair in a wash-and-go for my Caribbean Crawl getaway to Bahamas with my blogger besties Christina and Lexi. Why is that so brave, you wonder? Well, the chlorine and salt water can wreak havoc on your hair so maintenance has to be on point during vacation time!

I managed to keep my curls in tact with four products (yes, only four for the whole trip!):

-Before swimming, I prepped with Motions Hair Nourishing Leave-In Conditioner, $3.99

I highly recommend investing in a good leave-in conditioner anytime you swim. It works as a protective layer so your hair absorbs less chlorine or salt water, which weakens the hair follicle and causes breakage.

-I washed my hair with Motions Hair Naturally You Moisturizing Cleanser, $3.99

This way, I was able to wash out all the chlorine and/or salt water without stripping my hair of (much-needed) moisture and essential oils. I love how soft and nourished my hair felt after using it.

-I restored moisture with Motions Hair Naturally You Deep Conditioning Hair Masque, $6.79

My hair needed so much TLC after a day spent swimming in the pool and the ocean! The chlorine and salt water really wreak havoc on our curls (ugh!). I liked Motions Hair Masque for those moments because it’s intensely hydrating and has shea butter, coconut and avocado oil. It literally brought my hair back to life. It’s also really great for detangling. I couldn’t get through my curls without it.

-I defined my wash-and-go curls with Motions Naturally You Hydrate My Curls Pudding, $3.99

So about the wash-and-go style, I never really do it! I used to swear by it after I big-chopped but since then, I’ve been all about braid outs or bantu knot outs or flat twist outs. It felt really refreshing to wash my hair then apply the curl pudding (lightly) and then go. I liked that it was also moisturizing (with shea butter, coconut oil and avocado oil) and it doesn’t take a lot to get the job done.

My curls weren’t super defined from it but they were soft, fluffy and moisturized, which gave my hair that big, voluminous look.

I loved how my hair came out, and I’m incorporating a few of the products into my everyday regimen now (AKA I will never hit the beach again without that leave-in conditioner). Have you tried Motions Hair Naturally You products? What was your experience? How do you care for your hair when swimming? Tell me in the comments!
