MAKEUP

THE INSPIRATION

“The makeup look was really inspired by the collection, which is very ‘matte.’ There’s nothing too silky and I wanted that to translate to the makeup. The models look like mannequins. The eyelid is a pale, neutral grey and we made it look bigger by foregoing mascara. The lips have a touch of frosted metallic silver. We used a lot of powder for a matte, porcelain finish.” – Francois Nars, Founder & Creative Director

HAIR

THE INSPIRATION

Look created by Guido Palau for Redken

“Everything about the look, from head to toe, is tonal,” Palau told WWD. “We wanted them to look like you almost couldn’t tell what shade they were – is it pink, is it brown, is it blonde. They’re almost old lady colors. We bleached out the wigs, so they don’t really pop. The look in the end is like an illustration come to life. Everything matches.” After dying each wig, the hair was blown out straight with Redken’s Satinwear Blow-Drying Lotion. The looks was finished off by using a Redken Styling Spray Hair Spray. The geometric cut was inspired by Jessica Lange and a wide head band was added at the end.

NAILS

Look created by Marian Newman for Marc Jacobs Beauty

“The look is hyper-real, hyper-perfect – expensive,” she told WWD. “And very tonal.”

Five different tones of nude were hand-mixed with Jacobs the day before the show.
