#NYFW: Jason Wu’s Sexy Slip Dresses and Velvet Gowns
We are only days into New York Fashion Week and I’m already wowed by the insanely creative collections! The one I just can’t get enough? Jason Wu‘s Fall 2014 collection! Statuesque models strut their stuff in slinky gowns and tailored separates, teasing a bit of skin in their fitted silhouettes. We loved it all!
Jason Wu gave a modernized glimpse into the glamorous 1930s to the fashion-forward onlookers, among them Sofia Sanchez and Lauren Remington-Pratt.
Here are all the deets for Jason Wu‘s Fall 2014 collection.
Inspiration: With pieces dubbed by the designer as “quite personal,” Jason Wu mixed the aggressive femininity of the ’30s with the daring boldness of the ’50s for Fall 2014. The collection was characterized by minimal makeup, long waistlines, neutral and soft hues, and modest embellishments.
Key Pieces: Silky A-line gowns uplifted with cutouts, slits and metallic applique, tailored suit separates replete with wool and leather overcoats, fur clutches and lots of luxurious velvet. It’s worth noting this collection is a bit toned down from his previous offerings. If his prior collections were Michelle Obama at the ball, this is her on a romantic date night with her husband.
I am fawning over that silk dress with the thigh-high slit! Yes, please! What are your favorite looks from the collection?
