What I Wore: Frustrated Ballerina

Glamazons,

My boy jokes that I think I’m Iyanla Vanzant because I’m always analyzing everybody (the truth is I totally want to have a show like hers on “OWN” one day, but that’s another story). If I was analyzing myself, I’d say there’s a frustrated ballerina inside me. I took ballet classes, starting at age five and up until college and swore I was going to go to Juilliard and dance at ABT when I grew up.

Now, I still dance…at events, parties, in our crawl videos and in my chair (at work…where it’s totally inappropriate). Pretty much wherever I hear music. And I twirl…in heels and tutus…for no apparent reason.

Taking off…

Twirl, twirl, twirl…

Well, there’s one big reason. Twirling at Lincoln Center (where all the ballets take place) totally makes me feel like I’m dancing onstage and there are spotlights and an orchestra playing beautiful classical music in the pit and the theater is packed with people who are enraptured by the symphony and the dancing, and are throwing roses at my feet as I get more and more lost in the music…and then, I snap out of it and realize I’m in the middle of the sidewalk, strangers are looking at me funny and I have to rush to my next fashion show. And now someone’s cursing me out for not looking while I was spinning around and bumping into them. Sigh.
