Ready, Set, Fashion Week! Join Us for #NYFWCrawl

Glamazons,

I vividly remember watching New York Fashion Week shows on TV with my  stylish mother growing up! So it’s pretty surreal that I’m prepping for my thirteenth Fashion Week. Unreal!

Sometimes, I feel like a pro – I’ve walked through the doors at the tents with my invites, took notes during the show and reported on the coming season’s trends many times. But there’s still so much to learn, and it’s still so incredibly exciting! Nothing compares to the energy in the city during Fashion Week.

This season is special because it’s the first time we’re hosting a #NYFWCrawl, where our readers can follow along with every moment during New York Fashion Week! I’ll be joining my blogger besties, Christina of LoveBrownSugar, Danielle of Style and Beauty Doctor and Lexi of Lexi With The Curls for the first-ever #NYFWCrawl.

From prepping outfits to spotting the new trends on the runway to rubbing shoulders with celebs at the afterparties, we’re covering it all! Follow along on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram at #NYFWCrawl.

New York Fashion Week has been compared, hilariously, to “The Hunger Games,” since it’s essentially a marathon of eight of the busiest, longest days of your life back-to-back. It takes a strong person to survive on your feet from 8AM (time of your first backstage appointment) to sometimes 2AM the next day (when the last afterparty ends) while writing, networking, interviewing, editing and tweeting away. NOT for the faint of heart!

To help us survive, we’ve hooked up with these amazing sponsors.

Rent The Runway

I am a Rent The Runway fanatic — seriously, I’m obsessed! It’s the perfect way to wear a special, designer dress for a one-off event from weddings to birthday parties to fashion shows. And let’s not even mention the money you save renting instead of spending a fortune on a dress that’ll collect dust in your closet! Last Fashion Week, I wore the most beautiful Nanette Lepore, Vera Wang (above) and Issa London dresses from Rent The Runway (here, here and here) and am super excited to keep the tradition going this year! Stay tuned for details on this season’s looks from jewelry to dresses, and also tips on how to best shop the Rent The Runway site. Can’t wait to play dress up!

Eden BodyWorks

With hardly any extra time this week, I need a quick, surefire way to style my hair every morning, and ensure it looks good throughout the day. With the new wavy extensions I’m rocking this season (more on them later!), I know I can rely on Eden Bodyworks products to help my natural hair leave-out blend perfectly. I’ll be using my beloved Eden Bodyworks Peppermint Tea Tree Hair Milk (review here) to do a braidout each night.

SheaMoisture

SheaMoisture will be my go-to beauty brand this week with their New York Fashion Week survival kit. From skincare (which I tend to neglect when I’m on-the-go) to haircare, they’ve got it all covered. Their scrubs and lotions always give my skin a warm glow and I’ll definitely need that on day four, when the lack of sleep is starting to catch up with me. Stay tuned for a post on my favorite survival products.

Smirnoff ICE

And with all the hard work ahead of me during Fashion Week, it’s easy to forget to enjoy it all and have a good time! That’s where Smirnoff ICE comes in. As part of their new Straight Primpin’ campaign, I’ll be taking some time out to enjoy a fab cocktail with my blogger besties while we prep for the Fashion Week afterparties (there’s me primping for a #NYFW party last season above). You can join us too by entering to win a $100 AMEX card for Smirnoff ICE and pre-party goodies here.

Yay! Be sure to join us on our latest New York Fashion Week adventure using the hashtag #NYFWCrawl.

Ready. Set. New York Fashion Week!

Kisses,

Glamazon Jessica
