Beauty & The Beach: 10 Essential Products for Sand and Sun

Hey Glamazons!

With all of those heat waves that we’ve been seeing in the news, there’s no better time than now to plan a trip to the beach. Why not cool off and (safely) soak up some rays?! But do it fabulously.

Here are 10 of my go-to beach-ready beauty items to help you prepare for a glamazing time by the water:

1. Sunscreen!

There is nothing cute about painfully red, dry and flaky skin. Unless you protect it, that’s what you’ll probably walk away from the beach with. Sunscreen is a daily skincare essential and Neutrogena Wet Skin Sunblock Spray seems like a sure fit for safe coverage. Don’t forget to reapply your sunscreen often even if it says it’s waterproof and has a high SPF.

For a pretty sun-kissed glow, mix a little shimmery bronzing powder with the lotion before applying.

2. Tinted Moisturizer with SPF

For the Glamazons who want to protect your skin with a little bit of makeup covereage, try the Iman Cosmetics Skintone Evening BB Cream. Not only does this beauty treat come in a range of shades ranging from sandy light tones to deep cocoa hues, it also has SPF 15 and is paraben free with vitamin C.

3. Lip Balm

Make sure you put your best pucker forward by keeping a fab lip balm on hand to keep dryness and cracks away. Your lips can get sunburned too so look for products with SPF. Try Tropical Lip Balm by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.

 4. Day at the Beat Essentials Kit

Not into purchasing all of your beach essentials separately? No worries because you can easily protect your skin lips, and style your hair with Folica.com‘s Day at the Beat Essentials Kit. The highlight of this kit is LuxorPro “Wet” Brush, which was created for easily detangling of all hair types.

5. Cute Hair Accessories

Just because you’re getting some R&R, it doesn’t meant that you can’t be stylish during the process! Adorn your tresses with a pretty headband like the Deepa gurnani Crystal Beaded Headband!

6. Waterproof Bronzer

Get your glow on by investing in waterproof bronzer. You don’t have to bake in the sun for a sun-kissed look! Just dust bronzer this on your cheeks and around the periphery of your face to channel your inner J-Lo! Try Cargo‘s Water Resistant Bronzer.

7.  Cleansing Wipes

Let’s face it: the beach can be fab but it can also get sticky and kinda messy. I’ve gone home with sand and salt in places that I had no clue it could end up! Keep cool and clean by having some cleansing wipes on hand. Dermstore has an assortment of travel-friendly individually packed hand sanitizer and makeup remover wipes. I love their products! One wipe goes a looong way!

8. Eye-Catching Nail Polish

Your mani and pedi may be small details to your look but they can make ALL of the difference when it comes to being glam at the beach! While warm brights are usually all the rage during the summer months, pastels have bled over from the spring and are making their way into summer collections. For example, the Essie Summer Collection set consists of four pastel hues: teal, yellow, coral and lavender.

9. Waterproof Mascara

I don’t know about you, but I’m one of those people who feels naked without my mascara. This also applies to my time at the beach! I’m currently loving Rimmel London Scandal’eyes Waterproof Mascara.

10. Blotting Paper

A shiny forehead is not the bizness, so keep some blotting paper on hand to help reduce additional shine. I’m a fan of Nyx Cosmetics Blemish Control Blotting Paper.

What beauty essentials do you use swear by for soaring temperatures?

Ciao Bellas,

Glamazon Margo
