7 Things I NEED from the H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection

Glamazons,

You know how your dearest friends can be a bad influence on you but in a good way? That’s my friend B. We both feed each other’s shopping addictions from the Christian Louboutin sample sale to the Versace for H&M collection. It’s so bad, in fact, B is the one who put me onto ASOS and you guys know how addicted I am to that site!

Well, she did it again today when she texted me a pic of the glamazing dress she got from the H&M Conscious Exclusive collection, made from sustainable materials (cotton, recycled polyester, recycled polyamide and tencel). It’s available in 140 stores worldwide as well as online today. I heard about it, of course, but had pledged to stay away to try and curb my shopping habit that has recently spun out of control. But wow, her dress was too cute for words!

Now I am unapologetically browsing through the collection online and picking apart the pieces I need to survive. Only God can keep me from the editor event happening tonight in NYC. Eeek!

Here are my faves:

1. Dress with Beaded Embroidery

From the darling bronze beaded embroidery to the cinched waist and bubble hem skirt, what’s not to love about this dress? ($129)

2. Tulle Dress

I can spend my days and night spinning in a tutu down New York City like the repressed ballerina I am. The plunging corset bodice and full tulled skirt are the stuff of Parisian Carrie Bradshaw’s dreams. And to think this beauty came from recycled items? How perfect. ($199)

3. Grosgrain Blazer, Vest and Pants

I feel like I could channel my daring, sophisticated inner Gwyneth Paltrow side in this arresting three-piece white suit and nude heels. There are few things as chic. (Blazer, $79.95; Pants, $49.95; Vest, $34.95)

4. Satin Jumpsuit

OMG I’m living for this jumpsuit! The fabric gives it a menswear vibe but the halter top and sassy side cut-outs are all vixen. This is a must for Spring. ($69.95)

5. White Peplum Top

Can I please give the kids an Olivia Pope moment in this white peplum top? The origami folding and asymmetrical hem make this the ultimate conversation piece. I really feel like I could save the world – or at least fix political crises – in this gem. ($69.95)

6. Rose-Trimmed Dress

So THIS is the dress my friend B now owns. *moment of silence for how beautiful it is* The plunging neckline and sides are lined with roses and the piping throughout complements a hourglass shape in the best way. It’s soft and feminine yet racy at the same time. One of my favorite floral dresses, evs. ($129)

7. Long Dress with Bare Back

With its bare back, blush minimalist hue and floor-sweeping length, this gown is a study in elegance. I can envision myself floating into a ballroom with my hair pulled back and a faint hint of blush on my Nicole Kidman. Doesn’t it give life? ($59.95)

Can I just say how DEVISTATATED I was when my h&m didn’t have all the items at our store. Broke my heart. Got there as soon as it opened and even I left work to shop, only to leave empty handed. Saddest day in 2013 to date.

Ugh I’m so bummed that happened to you. I went to a few H&M’s in NYC and couldn’t find the tutu either so I feel your pain. There was no rhyme or reason to which stores carried which items from the line. Yet another reason I can’t wait until they launch e-commerce! xx
