OK, I know, I know we pretty much spend all our time obsessing over Solange Knowles‘ clothes but believe it or not, before we fell in love with her sartorial glamazingness, we were all into her music. “T.O.N.Y.” from “Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams” is my young adult life. (In the sad event you’ve never heard that song, please download it post-haste. You will love!). Four years later, Ms. Solo is gearing up for her third album and I’m sososo excited to hear what’s in store.

During her hiatus from music, Solange became a veritable fashion “It Girl” nabbing spokesbeauty deals with Carol’s Daughter, Rimmel London and Madewell, and slaying red carpets all over the world. So it makes perfect sense that her new music video for “Losing You,” shot in artist Mickalene Thomas‘s Brooklyn studio, is an ode to Solange‘s well-documented love of mixed prints.

There are cool patterns everywhere from Solange‘s fave lines like DVF, Opening Ceremony and Kenzo and there are scenes in both Brooklyn and South Africa.

Oh and if things couldn’t get any better, a DVF-clad Solange says one of the scenes was inspired by the one movie where I can recite every word, Clueless! She reenacts the famous “Suck-and-Blow” kissing game at the party in the Valley where Elton kisses Cher. Of course, you guys remember this right?

How cool of Solo to borrow from such an “iconic moment in time” for “our generation.” YES!
