#NYFW: Marc Jacobs Spring 2013
Glamazons,
Can I be totally honest with you for two secs? It will be a glorious day when I get invited and seated at a Marc Jacobs show. His collections are truly brilliance. And being a fashion lover since young (my mom and I used to sit and watch the collections on TV, she started this!), it would truly make my life to see his pieces hit the catwalk for the first time. I’ve never seen someone take risks each season and always to great effect. Spring 2013 was no different.
Here are the deets:
Inspiration: 1960s New York City It Girl Edie Sedgwick was Marc Jacobs‘ muse for this collection. The sleek blonde haircut, thick eyebrows, stripes and simple silhouettes are quintessential Edie. In fact, the first model, Ruby Jean, was a dead ringer for her.
Key Pieces: Stripes galore! Stripes adorned floor-length dresses, billowing t-shirts, skirt suits and trenches. Coats got an exaggerated striped ruffle collar and even gowns kept the striped theme going with sheer paneled strips adorning the skirt.
Who I Could See Wearing This Collection: Sienna Miller, Katie Holmes, Sarah Jessica Parker.
What do you think of Marc Jacobs‘ latest collection, Glamazons? Do you love his reinterpretation of 60s stripes? Isn’t that thick brow, sleek hair beauty look everything?
Kisses,
Glamazon Jessica
