Dying To Try: Oscar De La Renta Spring 2013 Pink, Yellow and Blue-Streaked Hair at #NYFW
Happy Friday, Glamazons!
The official New York Fashion Week shows might be over, but the looks from Oscar de la Renta‘s Spring 2013 show have me buzzing with anticipation to try next season.
The models looked funky and edgy with their hot pink, blue and yellow streaked hair pulled into sleek, retro buns. Hairstylist Orlando Pita created these colorful French twists, which he describes as “Holly Golightly meets Keith Haring.”
The dewey, fresh-faced makeup and matte fuchsia lips that accompanied their vintage-meets-modern hairstyles were the brainchild of Revlon‘s Gucci Westman. “I was really inspired by Keith Herring meets Holly Golightly; it’s a little bit naughty meets nice,” says Westman. “I wanted to create a look that was cool and luxurious, just like the clothing. I kept the face simple and fresh, applying layers of sheer texture then adding a subtle flush to the cheek, as the focus of this look was the lip. For the lip I mixed three different lip products together and applied all with my fingers, to give it a bit of a suede finish and keep it looking matte.”
