#NYFW: BCBGMaxAzria Spring 2013 with Estelle, Selita Ebanks and Jessica White [Video]
So I was late to my first New York Fashion Week show (surprise, surprise) but I made it in the nick of time and nagged a front row seat across from some of my fave stars, including a fabulously styled Estelle. (Sidenote: I SO was not scheduled to be in the front row but they needed a filler and there I was! An example of tardiness paying off in life).
The REAL star of the runway show though was the clothes. Let’s take a look (I was able to get some pics on my iPhone. Will update when the hi-res images are online!).
Here are the deets:
Inspiration: The liner notes name “the femme fatale muses and high contrast of Helmut Newton’s black and white photography” as the inspiration.
Key Pieces: This may be the sexiest BCBGMaxAzria collection ever. Structured dresses as well as silk crepe and chiffon gowns were offset by lingerie lace details, embroidery, tulle flourishes and edgy leather harnesses. Ethereal colors (corals, whites, blushes and greys) and fluid silhouettes contrasted sharply with sculptural necklines and perforated leather accents.
Oh and the ankle-cuff wedge heels were to-die-for!
Who I Could See Rocking The Collection: Zoe Kravitz, Rihanna, Estelle, Tika Sumpter. Good girls with a bit of attitude.
