GLAM SLAM: Lady Gaga Rocks a Fro and Marc Jacobs Gown for September Vogue

Glamazons, you guys have known for some time I’m a Monster. But my desire to stalk Lady Gaga‘s every move is sometimes ridiculed because she’s, well, strange. She wears meat and pops out of eggs on the red carpet…so why would I, a normal, fashion-obsessed, 70s-loving loudmouth, be into such a weirdo? This is why.

Her incredibly freaking amazing September Vogue cover. Lady Gaga is a true fashion icon. She just gets it. She wears everything from a gorgeous Marc Jacobs gown to yes, a meat dress as if it’s a work of art.

She just has this panache and finesse that you can’t recreate which makes her less pop princess, more fashion darling.

Though I’m sure I’ll get a lifetime of sideeyes for saying this, I put Lady Gaga‘s style in the same place as Anna Dello Russo, Grace Jones (Strangé) and even the late Anna Piaggi: theatrical and fascinating.

I mean, can you imagine anyone else working a Steven Jones hat like this?

Styled by Grace Coddington and shot by Mert & Marcus, this cover is nothing short of brilliant.

She is SERVING so it makes perfect sense that she was channeling RuPaul:

“Who else sees me channeling RuPaul on the COVER of VOGUE,” she said on Facebook. “If only I was as fierce as you bitch. I did try to come for you with that weave. oh, and the cover story written by jonathan van meter, is the TEA.”

We’re loving this moment as RuPaul is the reason (thanks to the “Glamazon” song which we’ve named our theme song in our heads). What do you think of Lady Gaga‘s cover for September Vogue, Glamazons?

Kisses,

Glamazon Jessica
