Strike A Pose: Gabby Douglas Covers People Magazine
Woot! Woot! The 2012 Olympics Gymnastics All-Around Champion, 16 year-old Gabby Douglas, graces the cover of People Magazine! She also appears on the cover of Time, two of the biggest publications on the newsstands. And you can see her smiling face on the front of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes cereal box.
Glamazons, I obvi couldn’t be more thrilled. For every naysayer, there’s another accomplishment Gabby makes, proving she truly soars over the negativity.
In fact, Douglas was named the most popular athlete, according to The Associated Press:
NBC says the gymnastics gold medalist is the most clicked-upon athlete on its Olympics website. Through Sunday, her profile on the site had more than 18 million page views. That’s far above the second-ranked athlete, swimmer Michael Phelps, whose profile had just over 7 million page views.
It’s easy to see why Gabby is so well-loved. She remains positive and graceful even in the face of criticism. Her achievement is extraordinary and record-breaking, yet she still seems humble and down-to-earth.
Even Beyonce shouted Gabby out on her website and you know if Bey lives for her, then so do we. Clearly.
