Miami Fashion Week: Mara Hoffman Swim Resort 2013 #MFW
Glamazons,
Mara Hoffman has done it again! She wowed at Miami Fashion Week with a collection of trendy swimwear and cover-ups in whimsical, tribal-inspired prints in vibrant hues. Trust me on this Glamazons: you’ll want it all! We got the scoop on the inspiration behind the collection and also, gave our predicts for the beach-loving Glamazons who will want to scoop up every piece (well, besides ourselves). Check it out!
Inspiration: Mara Hoffman looked to nature, mythology and fantasy when creating her latest swimwear collection, according to the program notes. She calls the motif “Desert Outlaw Gypsies,” which totally speaks to the dreamy, earthy nature of the line. You can also see traces of Egyptian and Aztec art in the clothing, giving it a rich, cultured flair.
Key Pieces: Swimsuits with beaded necklines, bandeau bikinis, button-down tunics, easy mini dresses with lattice sleeves, gauze maxi dresses and more in an array of vibrant hues, custom prints and some intricate braided and lattice detailing. Accessories include embroidered scarf bags, fringe purses, printed canvas totes and “Billy Short” boots by The Frye Company. Models moisturized with my fave Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration™ lotion sunscreen and sported Pamela Love jewelry and feather tattoos on the back of their legs, a tribute to Mara’s own ink.
Who I Could See Wearing The Collection: Kourtney Kardashian, Whitney Port, Lauren Conrad, Angela Simmons.
Front Row: Speaking of Angela, she graced the front row and posed with the designer backstage wearing Mara Hoffman’s Vent Back Shortie Jumper in blue. Tres chic!
