5 Easy Ways To Update Your Hair For Summer!
Summer is all letting your hair down and having a good time. It’s also a time to make plans to get some R&R with friends and family. One of the biggest concerns that Glamazons have around vacation season is how to style their hair in quick, easy but stylish ways. Welp, we’ve got you covered! Here are a few hair tips to help you look glam while experiencing summer bliss:
1. Create your own hair band!
Nothing says summer glam like a well-placed braid. Adding a French braid to your front hairline is a quick way to glamorize ‘blah’ hair. It’s the most inexpensive accessory, am I right? To create the look, simply place a part in the desired location and braid across the front. Alicia Keys killed it with her gorgeous waves accentuated with a braid!
2. Shift your part!
That’s right! You can get a beauty quick fix by simply shifting your part. If you always wear it in the middle, try a deep side part pulled into a sleek ponytail. If you always wear a side part, move it to the middle! It may not seem like much but the placement of your part can revamp your look!
3. Accessorize with hair chains, ribbons and more!
I remember watching an episode of ”Keeping Up With The Kardashians” while the family were on vacation and being smitten with Kim‘s ponytail. The ponytail itself was low and sleek, but what really made it stand out was her hair chain.
Kim also gave me googly eyes when she rocked a braid with a ribbon intertwined. To get this look, take a ribbon that’s about the same length as your hair and starting at the base of the braid, knot it around a piece of hair that you will be braiding. After you’ve tied it at the base, gather the ribbon into a section of the hair and braid as usual.
5. Rock a flirty topknot!
I’m pretty sure I’ve said it before but you can never go wrong with a flirty high bun. Lala Anthony looked like a hot mama in the sleek style while building sand castles with her son, Kiyan. All you have to do is gather hair into a high ponytail, twist your pony, wrap it around the ponytail’s base and secure it with bobby pins.
6. Try Big Beach Waves
A few weeks ago, we gushed over Nicole Richie’s Glamour magazine spread and yes, we’re still crushing on her big hair. For full beach waves like Nicole‘s, apply a curl-enhancing gel or cream to damp tresses and section hair into 3-4 sections and add one big braid per section. You might have to secure the ends with small hair elastics. Cover hair with a satin scarf (unless you have a satin pillow case) and unravel them in the morning. Finger-style to add dimension. Spritz hair with a light, shine spray and you’re good to go.
Glamazons, what do you think of her hairstyle suggestion for summer? How are you styling your hair this season?
