Fashion News: Beyonce’s Revel Concert Costumes Designed by Ralph & Russo

Glamazons,

I’m rarely jealous but the Bey fans lucky enough to snag tickets to Beyonce‘s Revel concert in Atlantic City are truly having the best Memorial Day Weekend ever. The new mother to Blue Ivy made a glamorous return to the stage post-birth with a series of four concerts on May 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th with opening act Luke James.

Spoiler Alert: After teasing fans with behind-the-scenes rehearsal clips (both below), Beyonce hit the stage last night for what sounds like a memorable show, replete with a picture of daughter Blue Ivy and a rendition of “I Will Always Love You” in tribute to Whitney Houston. Can you believe I missed that?! I need video. STAT!

For her Revel concert, Beyonce wore custom designs by Ralph & Russo, reports People Magazine. Drawing inspiration from a “modern showgirl,” Ralph & Russo designers Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo created four couture pieces for the show.

At Bey‘s request, the pieces were “fun and edgy,” with an “ultra-glamourous feel to them.” And nothing says glamour quite like Swarovski crystals. The pieces were adorned with over 500,000 Swarovski Elements crystals and created by 20 couturiers in 4 weeks. WOW!

The design team created a two-piece with beaded fringe and structured shoulders; a red one-piece with a fringed skirt and modern cut-outs; a nude mesh bodysuit with silver beaded paneling and fringe detail; and a bodysuit with a pinstripe bodice and fringed skirt.

Glamazons, I can’t say enough great things about Bey‘s first look at Revel. Her skin is flawless. Her makeup somehow manages to be both over-the-top and subtle. Her hair is luscious and full plus that blonde hue is exquisite against her skin.

The costume’s dazzling crystal embellishments make her look like a true diva. The silhouette highlights her curvy post-baby body to great effect. And I LOOOVE those pink pumps! This is a GLAM SLAM.

She is SLAYING! No mercy.

It was important to Bey that the costumes were also conducive to her dynamic, high-energy performances. Thus, a flexible and comfortable fit was paramount. “Beyoncé always delivers energetic performances and therefore we take into account the comfort and flexibility of each outfit and the ease of getting in and out of the pieces with quick costume changes,” Michael Russo told People Magazine.

I’m positive the performance was as energetic as ever judging from the pictures and her rehearsal videos. I mean, the woman works hard! Check out Part 1 and 2 of “Making of Revel” rehearsal videos below:

Glamazons, are you waiting impatiently for the Revel DVD like me? Looks like Jay-Z enjoyed the show:
