#NYFW Backstage Beauty: Jenny Packham Fall 2012 with L’Oréal Professionnel, Laura Mercier & Essie Inspired by1940s Film Noir
Glamazons we had an all -access backstage pass to Jenny Packham’s Fall/Winter 2012 Presentation with L’Oréal Professionnel, Laura Mercier & Essie. The beauty looks were absolutely marvelous or rather bourgeoisie chic. The inspiration behind Jenny Packham’s beauty looks was 1940’s film noir. Think Old Hollywood glamour.
Hair: L’Oréal Professionnel
L’Oréal Pro was on the scene creating 1940s-inspired victory rolls.
I chatted with L’Oréal Professionnel lead master stylist, Leonardo Manetti. He said the inspiration was a glamorous 1940s ‘do modernized for the contemporary woman. Check out pics of him creating the look below:
This was the completed look on the runway:
Makeup: Laura Mercier
We’re only half way through New York Fashion Week and I’ve already noticed a few budding trends that will be a hit in the Fall. For example, shades of red and purple will be prominent this coming season. To match the 1940’s film noir theme, Laura Mercier MUA’s embraced those hues, giving models a classic look with a dark lip and defined brow.
To create the beauty looks for the eyes, Laura Mercier used “Starfruit”, “Dust”, “Violet Sky”, “Brown Copper” and ” Tiger’s Eye” eyeshadows. For the cheeks, a tinted moisturizer creme was used for countering and “Secret Camoflage” for sculpting. As for the lips, “Cocoa” and “Merlot” creme smooth lip colors were used in addition to “Pink Blush” and “Pink Pearl” lip plumper. Check out the final look below:
LOVE! What do you think of the look, Glamazons?
Nails: Essie “Wicked” + “Cherry Top Coat”
Jenny wanted the look of the model’s nails to be in sync with the beauty look so lead nailcurist Gina Edwards used Essie’s “Wicked” shade on the nails and finished it off with Essie’s “Cherry” top coat, which gave the nails a touch of glossy shine. Check out the look below:
Altogether, I thought the look was stunning. What was your verdict, Glamazons? Will you try some of these styles this Fall?
