#NYFW: Tracy Reese Fall 2012
There’s one show every year I won’t miss, even in the freezing cold, and that’s Tracy Reese! She’s one of my longtime favorite designers and such a sweet woman (I met her back at The Magazine and at a million chic fetes at the Tracy Reese boutique). And, most importantly, her clothes are always ah-mazing! This year was no exception.
After the DKNY show, I hopped in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion week shuttle and trekked back uptown to Lincoln Center for Tracy Reese, where I was delighted to run into a million of my favorites including: Jones Magazine Travel Writer Shantelle Guyton, LoveBrownSugar‘s Christina Brown, The Fab Report‘s Lorna Sol, Essence.com‘s style editor, Celia Smith and so many more! I also spotted The New York Times Online Fashion Editor, Simone Oliver filming her hilarious video on street style called “Getting Noticed” (check it out here). And last but never least, I ran into beauty legend, Mikki Taylor which, of course, made my day. It was a fashion reunion.
Across from me in the front row, I spotted another familiar face, Selita Ebanks alongside Kate Mara and Nikki Reid. Loved Selita’s blue dress!
She must have gotten the memo from Tracy herself to wear brights because TR’s Fall 2012 collection was just as vibrant.
Here are the deets:
In her liner notes, Tracy described a “colorful, confident” wardrobe suited for “navigating the urban landscape.” Think jubilant prints, girly embellishments and resplendent colors with a wearable, down-to-earth flair.
Metallic Minis, Neon Peplum Coats, Tangerine Crepe Dresses, Lemon Floral Blouses, Jacquard Coats, Killer Black Shades, Colorblock Heels, Caps in Muted Colors. Yes, Glamazons, this was a Fall collection with Spring sensibilities.
Who I Could See Wearing The Collection:
There was a beautiful purple sheen dress that screamed Michelle Obama but as a whole, this collection was very energetic and trendy. I’m pretty certain luminaries like Tika Sumpter, Selita Ebanks and Lala Vazquez will be huge fans.
What do you think of the collection, Glamazons?
