GLAM SCOOP: Karl Lagerfeld Calls Adele Fat, 11,000 Jason Wu for Target Items on EBay and Gisele vs. The Patriots
Afternoon, Glamazons! I hope your day is going glamazing! I’m strolling around the office in my favorite Giants jersey right now while also preparing myself for New York Fashion Week, which starts this Thursday. What shows are you looking forward to seeing? I always look forward to the Dolce & Gabbana collection showing the most.
Before we hit the NYC streets in our stilettos for the shows, we have your daily dose of fashion and beauty news! Let’s get to it!
11,000 Jason Wu for Target Items on eBay

As one would expect the highly-anticipated Jason Wu for Target collection sold out lightening fast. Although it didn’t get as chaotic as Missoni for Target did, once again, consumers were less-than-pleased. Online shoppers were met with dead/broken links, error pages, website crashes and more while attempting to snag the new collection via e-commerce.
And if that’s not bad enough, two very special people in Miami (Kevin Willis aka DJ Midas and an unnamed woman) bought out the entire collection in-store just to re-sell it on Ebay. Shoppers who waited long hours on line were left with nothing. Take a look below at video one customer was able to record showing the wonderful couple as they bought out the entire collection in a Miami Target:

Just sigh. Isn’t this why the great people at H&M put a limit on how many garments you can buy during capsule collections…to make it a tad more fair to the honest shoppers who are waiting to indulge in the collection and keep the re-sell rate low? Speaking of which, there are currently 11,000 pieces from the collection on Ebay. UGH. [Fashionista]
Karl Lagerfeld Calls Adele Fat
I love Karl but his commentary often leaves me scratching my head. Here’s his latest verbal offense via Metro, this time targeted at Adele.
On Adele:
“I prefer Adele and Florence Welch. But as a modern singer she is not bad. The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.
He had nicer things to say about Michelle Obama’s “big, black ass.” Yes, you read right:
“Yes he does, especially because of Mrs. Obama. I’m a big fan of Mrs. Obama – and her face, I think, is magical. He would not be there without her. Mrs. Obama is not a fashion statement, but she has other things to do. My favorite thing about Mrs Obama was when she was asked if her skirt was not too tight and she answered “Why you don’t like my big black ass?” I want [Barack] Obama to win because there is nothing better anyway, and especially because of her.”
Why all the talk of Michelle Obama’s bum (remember Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner gave his two cents, as well)? And how dare he call Adele fat! What do you think of his comments, Glamazons? And P.S. Michelle Obama’s camp clarified she never said that “big, black ass” comment. Maybe Karl daydreamed that? [Huffington Post]
WERQUE! Kenzo Spring 2012 Campaign

Models Ajak Deng, Alek Wek, and Nairoby, who always exude glam, get prim and proper and a bit preppy for Kenzo’s Spring 2012 campaign. Loving the bright colors and bold prints! What do you think of the campaign Glamazons? [Beauty Is Diverse]
Gisele Bundchen Blasts The Patriots, Goes Topless for Versace

Our gorgeous supermodel friend-in-our-head Gisele can get a little tough when it comes to defending her hubby, The Patriots’ Tom Brady. When fans criticized her husband’s performance at the Superbowl, she snapped back: “You [need] to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot [expletive] throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.” Three snaps in a Z-formation.
When she’s not shading hubby Tom Brady’s Patriot teammates, Gisele Bundchen is posing topless for Versace. Check out her beautiful spread for Versace Jeans‘ latest campaign. Since he goes home to that every night, guess Brady’s a winner afterall. [US Magazine]
Until tomorrow!

Excellent atcirle! Yes it’s true that a woman will always be judged on her outward appearance and never her accomplishments. The media knows and understands that Mrs. Obama is a very accomplished woman, but they’d rather ignore that fact and instead concentrate on the mundane, superficial and insignificant, such as what designer she’s wearing. I admire our first lady and support her more than worrying about what she’s wearing, she’s not in the same category as some entertainers and yet the mainstream media to include the urban media try’s to place she and The President in that group. If members of the CFDA want their books to be in the black then they need to change their marketing tactics and go after the actual customers because Mrs. Obama may be influential, they still have to court the customer by promoting more diversity in their ads.
