Jackie Magazine Publisher Doesn’t See Anything Wrong With Calling Rihanna the “N” Word! Grrr!

Remember the lovely (*sarcasm*) magazine editor, Eva Hoeke, who offered up a sincere (*sarcasm*) apology on behalf of Jackie Magazine for calling Rihanna a “niggabitch” with a “ghetto booty”? Well, after she resigned, the publisher, Yves Gijrath, released a statement explaining that he’s actually NOT sorry.

[T]here is nothing wrong in the magazine. [Hoeke] presented it as a joke, but it most certainly was not a joke. It was an interpretation [of a fashion style]…She should have said: “we did not realize this interpretation is such a touchy subject. We never meant any harm and offer our sincere and upright apologies.” But because of all the fuss, Eva started to wiggle in all directions, and therefore we have come to the conclusion her credibility has been undermined.

Nothing wrong?! Is he kidding? I personally have a problem with the “N” word no matter who uses it. For me, it isn’t a term of endearment and I give folks a piece of my mind if they ever try to cross me with it so I was appalled when the magazine decided to publish that and fuel the ignorance.

Also, apparently they use that word to describe a type of fashion in the netherlands…Girl, WHAT? [Fashionista]

Man Dies Over a Pair of Jordans

Last night, as I was browsing the city for last minute gifts and noticed the enormous lines of people stationed in front of sneaker stores for the new Jordan Concords, I just knew I would wake up to some bad news surrounding it. Unfortunately, I was right. Last night, shortly after the new sneakers were released, Tyreek Amir Jacobs of Washington D.C. was stabbed to death over the sneakers. Horrible. Our condolences go out to his family. And buying public, nothing—especially not a pair of kicks—is worth taking a life. [Oh Boom]
