BREAKING (SMDH) NEWS: Katy Perry & Russell Brand Split

Here’s another Hollywood marriage that didn’t make it past 2011!  (But at least this one lasted for more than 72 days unlike Kim Kardashian’s smh.) My favorite pop star Katy Perry and her crazy, British actor of a husband Russell Brand have decided to call it quits after a year of marriage.

But get this, Glamazons: Russell is the one that filed for divorce! According to these divorce papers obtained by TMZ.com, he cited “irreconcilable differences.” So far, no word from Katy, but Russell did release the following statement:

“Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.”

Um, er…yeah…so I’m wondering what in the heck Katy could have done to make Russell divorce her? I mean, we all know they’re both crazy, but isn’t Russell supposed to be the “playboy” here?!  Side note: During that one time I actually met Katy on a press trip, Russell came into the room, managed to flirt with me (he’s actually really attractive in person!) within the split second I said hi to him but was also followed by a slew of video cameras. Which made me wonder if the pair were going to have their own reality show?! I guess not now!

While the couple has been fronting like everything is completely normal over the past couple of months, everyone noticed the two were in separate places not rocking their wedding bands on Christmas day. I could seriously sit here and speculate all day long about the two, but I won’t. Instead, I’ll just report the news (like I just did above) and let you guys make your own assumptions.
