#NYFW Backstage Beauty: Jason Wu Spring 2012

There are two things you can always expect from a Jason Wu runway show: cutting-edge designs and envelope-pushing beauty looks. At the Spring 2012 show the inspiration for the look was  Grace Kelly Chic Meets ’90s-Punk. In lieu of this quirky theme, Kérastase Paris and Odile Gilbert styled intricately pinned twist accented with black plumes to create a spiked hairstyle.

Here’s how to get the look:

—Use Kérastase Lotion Densitive to add thickness and texture  to hair

—Apply Kérastase Fibre Architecte (new and coming out end of October) to seal any split/damaged ends and add a styling memory element to the hair

—Add Kérastase Mousse Volumeactive for volume and texture

—Twist Hair into different pieces, interweaving with black feathers.  Hair is secured by bobby pins

—Finish with Kérastase Double Force Hair Spray

In addition to punk-inspired hair, matte poppy red lips were a gorgeous accent to the dark, yet sublime beauty look at Jason Wu’s Spring 2012 show.

Glamazons, what do you think about the hair and makeup at Jason Wu’s show? Are you digging the spikes?

Ciao Bellas,
Glamazon Margo
