GLAM SCOOP: Gossip Girl Clothing Line, Topman Calls Women Dogs, Carine Roitfeld for i-D Magazine and More
Good Afternoon, Glamazons! Did you enjoy our Fashion Week coverage as much as we enjoyed reporting? Hope so!!
Now that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has come to an end, I wanted to remind you that the Daphne Guinness Museum opens up at F.I.T today which is where I’ll be spending a portion of my weekend.
And of course I couldn’t let you start off your weekend without giving you your fashion & beauty fix! Here we go!
Chris Benz and Movado have Collaborated to Release Limited Edition Bold Watches
Fashion designer Chris Benz, who debuted a glamazing new collection this week, has teamed up with Movado to release a series of limited-edition Movado BOLD watches which feature Chris’ signature smoke print.
Love the series! The watches are fun with bright vibrant colors yet fashionable. Here’s what Efraim Grinberg, chairman and of Movado, had to say:
“Movado has an incredible history and association working with artists and designers who have taken the iconic Museum dial and updated it with fresh, unique interpretations,”
“We could not be more thrilled with the final watch designs and Chris’s dynamic reinterpretation of the Museum dot.”
What do you think of the watches Glamazons? Are they Glam or Sham?
Kendall Jenner Hits The Runway for Sherri Hill
Kyle Jenner wasn’t the only Kardashian to walk the runway during Fashion Week. Kendall Jenner, who has been pursuing a modeling career for some time now, hit the catwalk in a few fabulous prom dresses for Sherri Hill’s runway show.
Love it! If there’s one thing I know, it’s that Kris Kardashian puts in the WERK when it comes to her darling girls! She’s the ultimate momager!
Carine Roitfeld Covers I-D Magazine
Since Carine’s departure from Vogue Paris, she certainly has been making the rounds. She appeared in the Fall 2011 Barney’s campaign and more recently, on the cover of i-D Magazine. Love her “God Save The Queen” shirt.
What do you think of the cover, Glamazons? Is it Glam or a Sham?
Topman Calls Women “Dogs”
Topman is causing a bit of controversy with a new t-shirt that suggests that woman are dogs. Ugh. First, JC Penney’s releases a shirt questioning womens’ intelligence and now this. There’s nothing funny about asking “what breed” a woman is at all. It’s totally out of line and clearly demeaning, almost akin to calling her a B**** in my opinion.
What do you think of this T-shirt, Glamazons? Would you be okay with your significant other wearing this?
Gossip Girl Collaboration for Saks and Neiman Marcus
Glamazon, you already know how much I adore Gossip Girl ( I just can’t seem to get enough)! So of course I’m BEYOND excited about the Warner Bros Collaboration with Romeo & Juliet Couture to release a line of Gossip Girl-inspired fashions. How fab is that?
The line will be available just in time for the 5th season of Gossip Girls at the end of the month. I can’t wait!
What do you think, Glamazons? Will you be hitting the stores to grab a few pieces from the line which will be sold at Kitson, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue?
Let’s hope the madness isn’t as bad as the fights that were breaking out at the launch of the new Missoni for Target collection.
First Lady Michelle Obama Honors Fashion Designers at The White House
Michelle Obama honored some of the world’s top designers for their contributions to fashion and computer graphics. Winners included J. Mendel for fashion and Matthew Carter for his achievement in type face designs.
“These men and women have breathed new life into our homes and our workplaces, the clothes we wear, the products we use every day, and even the most basic ways we process information,” she said.
Both Matthew and J. Mendel were lucky enough to receive an honor and dine at the First Lady’s table. Jason Wu and Prabal Gurung (whose bow top she wore recently) were also finalists in the fashion category. Love it!
