Would You Rock…Tie Dye Hair like Lauren Conrad, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj?
You read that right. Lauren Conrad, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj are all rocking tye dye hair!
I remember when the trend was to only dye a patch of your hair a different color; it was a bit quirky but still relatively understated. Well, we have geared away from those days and the new look is to tie-dye the ends of your hair in a rainbow of colors. Very 70s, summer of love, right?
My hair is too dark for the tie-dye to probably even show but I think anyone out there with lighter hair should go for it…if you’re brave enough that is. You can try it with easy-to-use temporary dyes like Manic Panic. And an added bonus, you can change up the colors every few weeks.
MTV reality star Lauren Conrad was one of the first celebs to make the jump. She got all colorful and 70s on us with bright pink, blue and purple dip-dye. She debuted the look on her beauty website TheBeautyDepartment.com after taking a poll to decide if she should do it or not. I would’ve totally voted yes because how adorbs does she look now?
And of course Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj were spotted rocking the look as well. They’re always down to experiment with hair trends (and wigs are their best friend!) so it’s not surprising they ventured into new colorful territory.
Sure it’s not a look you can rock to work if you’re in corporate America but I totally think reality stars, writers, stylists, rappers, singers, etc. should go for it. Basically, any job where your boss won’t give you the side-eye for hair that looks like it was dipped in paint.
What do you think of tie dye hair? Are you brave enough to take the plunge like Lauren Conrad, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj? Let us know what you think!

[...] I know they say blondes have more fun, but you might have to postpone your desire to lighten your hair. Summer isn’t the best time to change your hair color because the chemicals in the hair color will already put some strain on hair, so with the addition of sun rays it could lead to breakage and discoloration. If you just have to dye your hair use a temporary product, or opt for colorful clip-in extensions. [...]
