Happy Monday! Welcome back to your regularly scheduled work week. (Sighs) I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, it was definitely a scorcher out there! I relaxed and spent some much needed time with my family and am refreshed and rejuvenated for a great week.
So much has happened over the weekend from deaths with the tragic loss of Amy Winehouse (RIP) to births with Lauryn Hill’s sixth child to weddings with a record number of gay couples jumping the broom in NYC. Here’s some of the fashion and beauty happenings that took place as well. Let’s get to it!
Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin Named The Latest Spokespeople for MAC Viva Glam
MAC is all about inclusion and they stayed true to that fact with the addition of Ricky Martin and Nicki Minaj to their roster as reported by Teen Vogue. The Latin crooner and Young Money rapstress are shooting ads today with famed photographer David La Chapelle so you know they’ll be amazing. Look out for the spreads February 2012. We can’t wait!
The very sexy Diane Kruger has been the spokeswoman for L’Oreal since 2009. The above snippet is a behind the scenes look of the ad that she shot in Paris back in April. The sneek peek has me feeling like a voyeur, especially with the background music in the beginning lol.
Kruger rocks some very tres chic looks in the ad. My fave is the first look with her in the black dress, I love her body language and position, and her makeup is to die for! She kind of reminds me of Marilyn Monroe with the dolled up look. The other looks are a lot more simple and serene, she rocks a smokey eye and she looks naturally glamazing. I can’t wait until the ad is released so I can see the finished product!

One of the most powerful vehicle brands in the world is taking a leap into the beauty pool, since they have already mastered sponsoring Fashion Week. Mercedes-Benz announced that they will be launching a fragrance line in partnership with INCC Group.
The president and CEO of INCC, Rémy Deslandes, stated, “”I am thrilled and excited by this given responsibility and it is with passion that I will meet our business partners at the TFWA in Cannes this September to witness together the birth of a perfume star.” I can imagine that the line will be sleek and sexy much like the car.
Charlotte Ronson is a glamazing designer who I know from her I [Heart] Ronson JC Penney Collection. The line has really cute trendy clothing that I can always find at a great price. Anyway, Ronson is launching her first “lifestyle beauty collection” named Charlotte Ronson Beauty this September in all U.S. Sephora stores.
The line will include hair, body, and face products and prices will be at a reasonable range from $14 to $28. (Her prices have always been middle class friendly) She told WWD, “The collection was created with my friends and family in mind, and each product is named after their unique style and beauty.” I can’t wait to see the collection, if its anything like her clothing I know it will be great.
