FIRST LOOK! Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s

The closest thing I’ll ever have to affordable Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld for Macys, has unveiled images of the new collection via Vogue.

As we reported before, the collection will include 45 pieces and launches on August 31st with prices from $50-$170.

As for the look, expect feminine, structured pieces like the floral dress above (which retails for $109) and sassy, rockstar looks that incorporate a bit of edge.

Of the dress, Lagerfeld said it’s “a coup d’oeil to the dresses I designed for Chloe and the girlish, more romantic mood of the seventies.” The romantic florals and fluid silhouettes are totally 70s and a chic addition to a department store like Macys.

He also released these sketches via Vogue:

I love that the pieces have Lagerfeld’s stamp on them but are a little bit more sexy and adventurous. He said he was excited to venture away from his normal aesthetic: “These partnerships are a working holiday from my normal discipline, and I like to think differently.” Love!

What do you think of his pieces?
