2011 Billboard Music Awards with Beyonce, Rihanna, Britney Spears and Selena Gomez PLUS What They Wore [Video]

Beyonce’s stellar performance! Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’ kiss! Rihanna’s chic white Max Azria pantsuit! Cee-Lo’s flying piano! There was plenty of fashion, entertainment and PDA at tonight’s 2011 Billboard Music Awards.

And I loved it all. Yes, as award shows go, it was pretty amazing.

Let’s start with the moment everyone keeps talking about: Beyonce’s spectacular show.

Yassssss! After accepting the Billboard Millenium Award with a tribute video featuring such greats as Stevie Wonder, Michelle Obama, Bono, Barbara Streisand and Babyface (who said HE’s inspired by HER), Bey shut it down with a performance to her song “Girls (Run The World).”

What made her set memorable were the cool screen effects that were so 21st century and unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Her precision to hit every move right on time for the accompanying graphics? Incredible! What an innovative, memorable show. Bravo, Bey!

Even better, during her speech, she thanked all the Destiny’s Child members (even LaTavia and Letoya Luckett who tweeted “No, thank you. Love you” back to Bey) and adorably declared her love for Jay-Z who wore Tom Ford styled by June Ambrose (“I love me some Jay-Z” she said). I literally was in tears I’m so proud of her (don’t judge. I’ve been a fan since the DC days!).

Check out her amaze performance:

Amazing!

She later changed into a Lanvin Fall 2011 dress and sparkly gold Louis Vuitton pumps for the press room. So chic and sexy!

Bey wasn’t the only highlight of the night, though. Rih was her usual fun, rockstar self on stage with Britney during a rousing performance of “S&M” remix. Love her personality!

Is that a kiss? So wild, Rih.

She wowed on the red carpet in a white Max Azria loose-fitting pantsuit, Neil Lane earrings, a Solange Azagury Partridge necklace, rings by Cartier, Jack Vartanian, Harry Winston and Neil Lane and Christian Louboutin nude Pigalle pumps. Plus her glorious red bob. I absolutely love this look and her effortless style is what sets Rihanna apart as a fashion darling. Love love love it! GLAM.

Watch her perform S&M with Brit Brit here:

Justin Bieber won the Award for Best New Artist (surprise, surprise) and stunned everyone by kissing his girlfriend Selena Gomez before walking up to accept the honor. Look who’s all grown up! (And love the gold metallic blazer and pixie cut!!)

Adorable! Girlfriend Selena Gomez’s Dolce & Gabbana gown was super sexy with cut outs and a plunging neckline. That’s a little bit much for me, especially when paired with red sequined sandals.

It’s like her fast Aunt dressed her (the one who’s single and keeps hitting on all the husbands at the family party…ok, maybe that’s just my family). But not ready to see her as a siren just yet. SHAM.

Ohh Taylor. I don’t know why I even bother researching what Taylor Swift wears to Awards shows when it’s clear it’s going to have sequins. Oh plus red lips. She’s like a cartoon character. Le sigh. She chose a strapless Elie Saab gown and sultry waves this time. I’m yawning. Can someone tell her there are other embellishments? Studs, fringe, stars, swarovski crystals, they make a ton. This is beyond boring. SHAM.

Fergie wore this interesting Herve Leger dominatrix meets schoolgirl outfit with Christian Louboutin Daffodil pumps and an Alexander McQueen clutch. I actually think the gold studs and cut-outs are pretty cool though the ruffles which remind me of my niece’s skirt kind of throw me off. Err…GLAM.

Ke$ha looked a little bit more polished tonight which makes me endlessly proud. I would’ve loved for the Jad Ghanour cut-out minidress to actually fit her though. And the tulle fabric just looks like a curtain got hooked on her dress as she walked out the dressing room. Love the Loree Rodkin jewels and Giuseppe Zanotti ankle booties though. Still, SHAM.

Watch her performance of (my fave song) Blow:

Nicole Kidman’s minimalist moment is chic by comparison but the velvet and sheer texture isn’t working for me at the end of May.

Live for her side braid though. Paired with pink lips, rosy cheeks and hoop earrings, it all feels so cool and effortless. GLAM.

Kelly Rowland! Yes it was Bey’s night but Kelly’s look gave me two weeks of life! She wore a pink Max Azria dress (look at that body!) with gold strappy sandals.

Love her pink lips and purple eye makeup. She is STUNNING! Live for this look. GLAM.

Mary J. Blige was just as chic in a Marc Bouwer leopard print turtleneck gown that was not only elegant, it was super flattering.

Some thought her blonde bang and high ponytail was outdated but it’s a look I don’t mind her bringing back. She looks gorg and the smoky eye is the icing on the cake. GLAM.

Nicki, Nicki, Nicki. The rapper rounded out the awards with a hilarious performance with Britney (the whole time I had to think…is this a joke?). On the red carpet, she was just as kooky in a baby blue jumpsuit with netted/embroidered detail on the side that’s very reminiscent of Laquan Smith but is by Mark Fast. She paired it with white Versace strappy heels.

But why are the roots on her wig growing out the pink color? Perplexing. SHAM.

I actually liked her white netted Mark Fast dress and Gareth Pugh jacket on stage tons more. That look was total GLAM, don’t you agree?

P.S. She actually looks normal here. But as Bevy Smith tweeted, don’t get all those, ahem, body enhancements just to cover it up. LOL.

Nicki closed the show with Superbass and Britney made a cameo:

What do you think of the fashion at the 2011 Billboard Awards? Who was GLAM and who was a SHAM? What was your fave performance? Did you like the host? Tell me everything!

Kisses,

Glamazon Jessica
