Ad Glam: Katie Holmes ‘Cheats’ In New John Frieda Commercial
Katie Holmes is making her beauty campaign debut using her acting chops and trend-setting brunette locs in a short film that is a part of John Frieda’s largest product launch in the history of the brand.
The beauty flick, “The Decision,” (I can’t pretend that I didn’t immediately think of Lebron James and his imfamous ESPN special of the same name when I heard this!) promotes John Frieda’s at-home color line Precision Foam Colour. Actress Katie Holmes stars in the black and white film and (surprise!) plays an actress who cheats on her her professional colorist by dying her own hair at home. GASP! Scandalous.
Using the analogy of infidelity is so true. I used to feel really bad about doing my own hair after faithfully visiting a beautician, but I just reminded myself that I was saving money and getting great results. There are still some things that I still can’t do myself, so I go to the salon, but sometimes I have to step out on my girl Shayla.
The Precision Foam Colour line has a rainbow of 20 stylist-selected shades and a foam texture to help make the application process easy. I can’t count how many times I’ve nervously paced the isles of beauty supply stores comparing shades and ingredients before attempting an at-home dye job. That initial fear and caution comes with the territory! After all a woman’s hair is her crown of glory, so we should treat it that way, so it really is a Lebron-esque experience, especially if it’s your first time .
