Get The Look!: Keri Hilson’s Two-Toned Golden Eye Shadow

I adore the fact that makeup inspiration can come from something as simple as a dazzling sparkle of eye shadow gleaming on the fiercely beat face of a gorgeous singer/songwriter. That’s exactly how my obsession with gold eye shadow came about! One glance at Keri Hilson rocking a two-toned gilded look, and I’ve been going for gold every since. Recently, I got some fab application tips from a makeup artist who hooked my face up for a photo shoot. Glamazons, you know I’m not one to be stingy with my glam know-how, so of course I’ve got the tips on you can re-create the look for yourselves right here!

#1. The first step to most any makeup look is to start with a clean, primed face. Apply concelaer underneath eyes and wherever else it’s needed.

#2. Next, evenly apply foundation all over your face. (Option: Use a cream foundation in a shade that’s a little deeper than your natural color for a bronze glow.)

#3. Cover lids with eye shadow primer and let dry. Next, pat on a metallic amber-hued eye shadow to the bottom half of the lid.

#4. Next, take a lighter gold shadow and apply it to the top half of the lid. Take this shadow up to the crease. Now, go back to the amber shade and apply it to the outer corner and of the eye for a more dramatic look. Make sure you blend so there’s a smooth transition between the two colors.

#5. Define bottom and top lash lines with a coat of brown eyeliner. Finish with two coats of mascara.

#6. One of the best parts of a flawlessly made-up face is blush. Apply a warm, golden-toned shimmery blush to the apples of your cheeks. (Don’t be afraid to step outside of the box with how you use different products. For an extra golden glow, dust a shimmery golden blush to the apple of your cheeks and along your t-zone.)

#7. Top off the look with a soft nude or neutral lip gloss.

#8. Instead of setting the look with powder use blotting paper to tame shine.
