Magazine Glam: Emmanuelle Alt’s First Cover for French Vogue Featuring Gisele Bundchen
News that legendary French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld was leaving her post at the magazine shook the fashion industry in December. A month later, former Fashion Director and Balmain stylist, Emmanuelle Alt was named as her successor. Now, Alt’s first cover as editor has emerged featuring the beautiful Gisele Bundchen for April 2011.
Of Gisele, Alt told Vogue.com there was “no question” of anyone other than Bundchen to star on her premiere cover for the magazine.
Shot by Inez and Vinoodh, Gisele wears Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2011 in St. Barts.
I am in LOVE with this cover. It ushers in a new era at French Vogue that masterfully blends its storied sex appeal (the sheer garment, the undergarments, Gisele’s sultry pose) with femininity, innocence and renewal (the lace, white, the beautiful landscape). I’m excited to see what Emmanuelle Alt has in store for the brand.
What do you think of the cover?
